DIVISIONS

YOUTH FORMULA K              54" tall  - 15 yrs old              Wednesdays               6pm
ADVANCED FAST KART        16 yrs old and up                  Wednesdays               7pm
MIDGET SPRINTERS               18 yrs old and up                   Thursdays                   7pm

RULES

Entry fee is $20. per person per day for each Division on all Race days and Tournaments.

All contestants 16 years old and up have the option to compete in more than one Division; the Advanced Formula K and the Intermediate  or Advanced Fast Kart.

The entry fee is $20. per Division per Race day.

All Race days are to be conducted on the same track as the actual Tournament.

All karts will stock identical engines and fuel, and be maintained to be as similar as possible in performance.

Tournaments in the Oval will not offer Fast Kart Divisions.

There will be no more than twelve drivers competing per Division per day on the Formula Ks, and no more than six drivers per Division per day on the Fast Karts.

There will be no fewer than three drivers competing per Division per day.

Drivers will be contacted by phone in no particular order from the sign up sheets.

If a driver is not present by the end of the qualification process, they may still compete, but will be set in the last kart in the formation.

Drivers not present before the eliminations have progressed to the first Heat will be too late to participate that day.

All competitors may participate on as many Race days as they choose in order to increase their score.

ALL DRIVERS MUST KNOW FLAGS & SIGNALS

White flag represents the pace lap. All karts are to remain in formation and well behind the pace kart.

Green flag represents acceleration and the start of the actual race. You may only pass other karts once the green flag is shown.

Yellow flag represents caution. All drivers are to slow down while keeping your present position in the race.

Whistle is sounded. All karts must roll to a complete stop while keeping your present position in the race. This usually will signify that an Attendant must enter the track.

Checkered flag represents the passing of the first place winner across the finish line. All karts may then make one last 'cool down' lap before parking. All drivers must remain in their karts until they are told by the attendant that it is safe to get up.

STOPS AND STALLS

If a kart stalls during a race, the whistle will sound meaning all drivers must come to a complete stop.

All karts must then be realigned in the order they were in at the time the stall. They will then make one pace lap while staying in formation and reasonable distance from each other until the green flag is once again shown.

If a kart 'spins out' during a race, the same procedure will be followed as a stalled kart, except that the driver deemed responsible for the spin out will be dropped to the last pole position.

If the spin out causes a wreck, the person at fault may be subject to automatic disqualification for that Race day, and with no refund, at the discretion of the Officials observing the event.

As always, all drivers must abide by the rules of safe, but competitive go kart racing. This tournament is to promote good racing skills and develop sportsmanship among the participants.

QUALIFICATIONS

All drivers will use the same Kart for the Qualification round.

Each driver will perform one warm up lap under the white flag, crossing the starting line at full speed. At that time, the green flag will signify the start of the timing.

The amount of Qualification laps required are as follows:

Street Track - 1 lap
Fast Track and Oval - 2 laps

One 'cool down' lap is allowed. The driver then slows to a complete stop on the starting line for the next qualifier.

ELIMINATION HEATS

The quickest qualifier will be the first to randomly draw for the kart they will drive in the first heat, followed by the second quickest, and so on.

The quickest qualifier will also be allowed choice of inside or outside line in the initial placement of the karts for the first heat only.

Formation for the rest of the karts will follow suit.

Formation will be with two karts abreast, in three rows.

After the first heat, karts will be parked in formation in no particular order. Placing drivers from the previous heat will again draw in order for their kart.

If a driver draws a kart they've already had, they must re-draw. No driver may race the same kart twice on the same Race day.

The first lap of each Elimination Heat will be led with a "Pace Kart' under the white flag. All karts must stay well behind the Pace Kart and in Formation until the green flag. The amount of laps raced in each elimination heat will be determined by the particular Track.

STREET TRACK - 10 Laps
FAST TRACK - 10 Laps
OVAL TRACK - 20 Laps

POINT SYSTEM

First, second and third place winners of each Heat will be awarded points as follows;

1ST PLACE  - 10 Points
2ND PLACE -   9 Points
3RD PLACE -   8 Points

THE RACE DAY FINALS

After three Heats, the six highest scoring drivers will race in the Finals for the day, with the top three placers receiving additional points as stated above.

The Finals may involve no more than six drivers or as few as three. Tied scores will stand with no decided winner that day.

After the final race, all karts are to roll to a stop and await the presentation of the checkered flag to the the highest point winner of the day. All others are then to park their karts while the winner makes one victory lap with the checkered flag in hand.

THE NEW WORLD CUP TOURNAMENT

Only the six drivers with highest Race day scores of each Division will compete in the NEW WORLD CUP.  The NEW WORLD CUP will be conducted in the same manner as a regular Race day, with the exception being an extended Final race.

THE TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS

Only the First and Second place winners of all the previous Tournaments will race. March will be the period of elimination for these drivers, and be conducted in the same manner as all the other Tournaments.

AWARDS - Race day Winners

Race day winners will be awarded points, which will be used to determine their standing in the NEW WORLD CUP.

AWARDS - TOURNAMENT Winners

First, Second and Third place winners in each division will be awarded a trophy with their placing, the year, their division and the name of the Tournament. Only the First, Second & third place winners of each Tournament will be granted entry to race in the Feature Tournament of each season, with high points being the determining factor.

AWARDS - THE FINAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

First, Second and Third place winners in each division will be awarded a trophy with their placing, the year, their division and winning title from the 'Tournament of Champions'.
